Last night I made a man out of my pillow. I tied together some socks for his arms and legs. I grabbed a Sharpie and designed a face for him. He had your nose, your eyes, your lips, and the beautiful freckles that dotted along your cheeks that you have always hated. I layed him down and we spent all night talking about memories. He was a very good listener, better than you ever were. He never interrupted while I was explaining my tenth birthday, he never complained that it was too hot in the little cramped hotel room. Stuck. Cold and hungry. I can feel my fingertips losing their touch in the world. Alone. Lost. I can remember how I felt as I plummeted into this deep abyss, even though I'm still falling.
